We invite community members, allies, and the public to gather to remember the perilous journey of the refugees, celebrate the enduring strength and resilience of the Tamil community, and express deep gratitude for the profound compassion shown by Canada and the people of Newfoundland.

The event will feature an inspiring lineup of special guests, including:

• Lorne Waldman: Prominent Canadian Immigration and Refugee Lawyer.
• Sharon Bala: Award-winning Canadian author of the critically acclaimed novel The Boat People.
• Kirthana Sasitharan: Journalist and Producer at CBC News
• Lalita Krishna: Acclaimed filmmaker who will present a special screening of her documentary, Oorana Oor – My Country.
